An IFDO Working Group is grassroots by design. Each one is built around a focused charter - a specific problem in digital oncology that a group of clinicians, technologists, researchers and industry partners wants to solve together. Groups are co-led by two members (never just one), and within the group, everyone is considered equal - the only real “rank” comes from taking initiative.
Our first active Working Group, Artificial Intelligence in Pathology (AIPATH), launched in 2025 and is co-led by Dr Sangeeta Desai and Dr Rajiv Kaushal. It is focused on bringing digital pathology and AI into everyday onco-pathology workflows, improving patient outcomes, training the next generation of pathologists and supporting translational research.
